Surfing Fiji this week
Another Awesome week of surf what can I say??
Surfed Natadola reef one day when the swell dropped out on the reefs out front and scored pitching hollow 2-3ft maniac barrels over about 1-2 ft of water a few scrapes on the bottom for all but insane barrels!!!
Surfed desperations twice this week with one windy day and one day that would have to be the best I have seen it and only four of us out!! 3-5ft offshore hollow shallow barrels,real good session!!!
The swell arrived on Thursday with a good 6-7ft swell pushing in which just came up over night and was a test of things to come not many people out and plenty of solid waves had by all!!!! Friday saw the swell increase slightly with some good 8 ft freight training clean up sets coming through the swell direction had swing slightly and it made it super clean and just reeling down the reef!! by the afternoon no one was surfing the outside peak it was just to intense and the likelihood of being caught by a side winder set was 100%, good waves had further down the reef with a few frothing grooms chaffing at the bit!!
so all in all the surf this week has been OTRS ( off the ricer scale ) and a big swell is expected to hit around Tuesday Wednesday next week.keep ya posted!!
