Fiji Surfing points guide

fiji surfing Cloudbreak ( 10 minutes boat ride)/ Goofy

Situated in shallow water, the fast outer-reef wave produces majestic walls and barrels.

Cloudbreak is a complex wave. Wave choice is critical, so count the waves in a set and pick the best take-off spot when you first pull up in the boat.Thick, fast-moving lefts can hit different parts of the reef at a number of angles.

occasionally clean, long-interval groundswells do turn Cloudbreak into an amazing one-section wave.

Ride length: 150m to 300m; on a good day up to 500m

fiji surfing Restaurants ( 10 minutes boat ride)/ Goofy Check our video clip at Youtube!

Restaurants is one of the most perfect, machine-like waves on Earth.

The ideal size for Restaurants is between 3-8 feet with a medium to high tide essential to cover up the dangerous reef that lurks below. It is typically half the size of Cloudbreak and requires a slightly larger swell to break but when it does it has to be one of the best lefts anywhere.

fiji surfing Wilks passage ( 10 minutes boat ride)/ Regular Check our video clip at Youtube!

Fiji's world class righthander, same quality of waves as the famous Cloudbreak wave.

An open-ocean reef-pass wave northwest of Namotu Island, totally exposed to swell and all wind, rising straight out of very deep water at the southern tip of Malolo Barrier Reef. It's a fairly reasonable take-off followed by a long, warping wall with some great speed sections, ending in a shallow bowl. A good regular-foot's alternative to Namotu Left or Tavarua.

The best wind direction is northeast.Best around high tide .normal length is long.

' This beautiful right breaks best when the waves are in the shoulder to overhead range. It's possible to catch a left here, but be careful, the reef gets very shallow.'

' Mini break is a great wave to surf.
It's a hollow, barreling left, hiding in the middle of the ocean.
It only breaks on a big swell, and if the forecast says 6-7 ft swell, Mini's will be head high and perfect.
The Namotu and Tavarua boat rarely drive there. So most times you have the waves all to yourself!!'

fiji surfing Desperation ( 20 minutes boat ride) / left and right, both

Situated outside of Malolo Barrier Reef. Even if swell is small and other surf points are flat, we still be able to surf in here.

Powerful, fast wave. The best wind direction is east.Best around high tide.

'About 5-10 minutes past Wilks, Desperation has several peaks, both lefts and rights.
When the surf is too small or crowded at Wilks, Desperation is your best bet.
This break is usually 1-2 ft higher than the other nearby breaks.
Not the best choice if the waves are too big, because the several peaks and extra size make it difficult to get out of the inside.'

fiji surfing Other Fiji reef breaks ..........Swimming pool, Light house, Tavarua right etc...

Beach breaks............................Natadola beach, Sigatoka sand dune
