A windy start to the week saw many reef breaks blown out. A heavy southwest swell and moderate southeast wind provided some 6-8ft waves at Wilkes on Tuesday. With the wind persisting on Wednesday and Thursday some fun clean waves were had at Natandola with 2ft beach breaks providing waves for all levels of experience.

Friday and Saturday the wind eased and nice waves came through at Wilkes and Namotu. 4ft clean peaks were breaking on a clean southeast swell providing both lefts and rights at Wilkes. The Globe surfing contest starts this week off Tavarua which will see the worlds best carving it up at Cloudbreak for the next two weeks. The atmosphere is buzzing with everybody keen to see the pros carve up the infamous left barrel.

The coming week should bring good surfing conditions with a southeast swell and light winds.
