I am an experienced surfer but budget traveler, is there a beach break within walking distance in Fiji? Do I still have to go surf trip by boat?

Fiji surfing… is mainly for the more experienced; there are not many beach breaks.
Fiji is tropical islands so Sorry, unlike Australia and California most of the surf points are coral reef breaks. If you are expecting good wave in Fiji, you have to go surfing trip by boat.
See two photos in the same day morning. One is beach and other is reef.

For budget traveling surfers, we offer the reasonable accommodation.
Repeater, Brendan from California said "You came to Fiji for surfing from far, why you would like to go beach break? Back home, you can surf beach."

I am not an experienced surfer. Is there any surfing point in Fiji which is suitable for me?
There are several surfing points in Fiji, depending on the condition. We choose the best point for you. If during a big swell period and the wave is too big for you or you never surf before, we might take you to smaller wave like Natadola beach by our car. We have several local surfing guides who will advise you.

Surfing trip in Fiji departs only early in the morning?
Can I surf in the afternoon?

Swell is almost consistent for surfing in Fiji. But wind might start to blow if we depart late. Wind is the biggest factor controlling condition most of the time. So many days, we like to start early in the morning and surf as much as you like, then come back and relax in the afternoon. Only sometimes in the afternoon when winds not blowing too much or wind direction is off shore, we'll go out.

The swell is almost consistent year round in Fiji. Between January to March, the waves are good at Wilks with wind blowing off shore.April to September, the trade winds can blow on and off providing off shore conditions to alternative breaks like Mini break and Cloudbreak. The best advice is to check the photos and surf reports at gallery pages before planning your trip.
